The monstera leaves are large, so the panel reads at a distance in a way the finer foliage does not, which makes it a good choice for a double-height wall or a surface seen across a pool deck rather than from arm's length.
That scale is also the constraint. On a small wall, under about four square metres, the large leaves crowd and the design loses its shape, so on a narrow panel or a column it is usually better to run a finer foliage and use monstera only as an accent.
